The CITY bike hire scheme is closer to being launched, after Roads Minister Pallas announced the first 10 docking stations locations which will hold 100 bicycles. CLAY LUCAS The Age March 17, 2010

The scheme to open on May 31 is popular with many Melburnians, and is similar schemes that have been a hit in Lyon, Barcelona, Stockholm and especially Paris, where thousands of free bicycles have been installed across the inner city. Ultimately there will be more bike stations dotted across the city, holding a total of 600 bikes.
The first 10 stations to be set up will be at:
* Arts Centre in St Kilda Road
* Federation Square
* Corner Swanston and Flinders Sts @ McDonald's
* City Square
* Bourke Street Mall
* RMIT University
* State Library
* Lincoln Square in Swanston Street
* Melbourne University in Swanston Street
* Melbourne University in Tin Alley
